Information

Rapeseed lecithin has evolved as another popular alternative to (GMO) soy lecithin. Like sunflower lecithin, rapeseed lecithin is Non-GMO, allergen-free, soy-free, gluten-free and vegan.

In addition, rapeseed lecithin contains significant amounts of Omega 3, 6, & 9 Fatty Acids:

Alpha-Linolenic acid (ALA | C18:3) Omega-3 fatty acid: 870mg per serving. ALA is said to benefit cardiovascular health.

Linoleic acid (C18:2) Omega-6 fatty acid: 5175mg per serving

Oleic acid (C18:1) Omega-9 fatty acid: 7650mg per serving

Although not regulated by the FDA, or any other North American government authority, in 2002, the Food and Nutrition Board of the U.S. Institute of Medicine established Adequate Intake (AI) levels for omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids. For more information, visit intake recommendations.

The most common application for rapeseed lecithin is as dietary supplement “as is” (dosage as directed by your physician or health care provider) or in recipes for shakes, smoothies, sauces, dressings, or products requiring an emulsifier. It is also recommended as releaser (anti-stick agent) in combination with vegetable oil for baking and cooking.
